What to expect at The Kips Bay Decorator Show House
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is back after a three-year hiatus and this year’s event has brought together 22 designers and architects to showcase their creativity and design prowess. The historic River Mansion on the Upper West Side of New York City has been reimagined into a beaux arts town house with five floors of compelling interiors.
We may be biased, but one of the standout rooms in this year's show house is the ‘drawing room’ designed by Neal Beckstedt Studio. The ‘drawing room’ was created by reimagining the wine room in the mansion into a glass-enclosed space for solitude and creativity. Beckstedt envisioned the space as an architect’s private drawing room, where one can relax and be inspired to create.
The room features a custom stone-patterned floor designed with Artistic Tile, which perfectly complements the room's hewed, timeworn demeanor. The Swedish antiques from Dienst + Dotter Antikviteter give the space a touch of vintage elegance, while the panel curtains by Rose Tarlow Melrose House add texture and depth.
We are proud to have been a part of creating this beautiful space. Our team at M. Daddio, Inc. Artisan Builders put in a labor of love into the custom stone floor and built the foundation for Neal’s vision. We take pride in our work and are thrilled to see it featured in such a prestigious event.
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is not just a showcase of design talent, it is also a charitable event. The event raises funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and its enrichment programs, which aim to empower young people in the Bronx to succeed academically and in life. The show house has raised over $28 million to date for this cause, and we are proud to have contributed to this important mission.
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is open to the public until June 6th, and we encourage everyone to visit and experience the beauty and creativity on display.
