FIFTH AVENUE PIED-A-TERRE RENOVATION
Custom Renovation on Fifth Avenue
The owners of this Fifth Avenue pied-à-terre wanted to transform its once dark, traditional interiors to a nautical inspired home with a “modern beach shack” feel. The overall layout was opened to add a sense of spaciousness, fluid circulation, and light from the windows on three sides of the apartment. Drawing on yacht design as inspiration, architect Benjamin Andres created optimum storage, using built-in cabinetry, which is integral to the design of each area and room in the apartment custom built by M. Daddio, Inc.

Architecture / Design: Benjamin Andres
The kitchen and the dining area are treated as design extensions of the living room. Cerused rift white oak clads the all custom kitchen built locally in Long Island at the M. Daddio in-house millwork shop.
At once relaxed and sophisticated, the home has a sense of ordered serenity with the same bespoke cabinetry, storage and cerused book matched white oak utilized throughout. The minimal design is allowed to shine with custom pocket doors, wide plank white oak flooring, trimless casing details, smart lighting integration and integrated AC with linear and slot diffusers.
